May 16, 2005

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – Fifth Letter, a graphic design studio focusing on nonprofits, publishing, educational institutions, and emerging businesses has opened its doors.

In addition to design and marketing services, Fifth Letter offers strategic planning to help organizations and businesses focus their purpose and message for select audiences. This will enable clients to communicate effectively when considering projects such as capital campaigns, recruitment initiatives, and other wide-ranging coordinated efforts that may span multiple media.

Elliot Strunk, founder and Creative Director of Fifth Letter, brings ten years of experience to the business. His client experience ranges from large companies including Weyerhaeuser, Krispy Kreme, Sara Lee, and VF Corporation to educational institutions and not-for-profits such as The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, The Enrichment Center, and Habitat for Humanity.

“We will work hard to deliver unique and creative solutions to our growing list of clients,” says Strunk. “I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities associated with these specialized markets.”

Strunk’s work has won local, regional, and national awards from, among others, 10×10: 100 Specimens of Fine Paper, the Addys, AIGA (The American Institute of Graphic Arts), CASE (The Council for Advancement and Support of Education), Graphic Design USA, Graphis, HOW, Print, Step Inside Design, and Type Directors Club, as well as appearing in articles published in Communication Arts, Dynamic Graphics, and Graphic Arts Monthly magazines. His work has also appeared in seven graphic design compendiums and is included in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress.

In addition to his work, Strunk has taught graphic design at Salem College. Strunk graduated cum laude from Ohio University with a BFA in Graphic Design.
