Graphic Design Studio Selects Nonprofits for Grant Program

July 17, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – Fifth Letter, a graphic design studio focusing on nonprofits, publishing, educational institutions, and emerging businesses, has worked with its selection committee to choose two agencies to partner with for its annual nonprofit grant program. The two organizations are Family Services and the Pediatric Community Alliance.

Family Services is a Winston-Salem-based organization that provides programs to strengthen families through counseling, adoption, early childhood education, and violence response. Pediatric Community Alliance is a statewide service formed with the mission of improving the quality of care for children with serious illnesses.

2008 marks the second year for Fifth Letter’s design grant program. There were 14 organizations that submitted applications asking for a portion, or sometimes all of, the earmarked $12,500 in donated time.

“Nonprofits often come to us for help with great ideas and energy but nominal financial resources to implement them,” says Strunk. “We look forward to working with Family Services and Pediatric Community Alliance to raise awareness about their efforts and provide an increase in giving and other forms of support.”

Fifth Letter will be working with Family Services to provide an audit of their current materials and help craft new forms of communications to capitalize on the momentum of their move into their new LEED-certified building. Pediatric Community Alliance will use Fifth Letter’s services to craft an awareness brochure and related materials to educate families statewide.

In addition to design and marketing services, Fifth Letter offers strategic planning to help organizations and businesses focus their purpose and message for select audiences. This enables clients to communicate effectively when considering projects which are wide-ranging coordinated efforts that may span multiple media.

Elliot Strunk, founder and Creative Director of Fifth Letter, has years of experience working with a diverse list of clients.
