Graphic Design Studio Wins Awards

October 20, 2006

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – Fifth Letter, a graphic design studio focusing on nonprofits, publishing, educational institutions, and emerging businesses, has recently won several design awards. Their office is located at 924 Burke Street in downtown Winston-Salem.

The awards, eight in total, have been granted by the industry magazine “Graphic Design USA” and the books “LogoLounge 3” and “American Corporate Identity 2007.” Elliot Strunk, founder and Creative Director of Fifth Letter, couldn’t be happier.

“While any award reflects positively on a business, I am most excited by the fact that they serve as an acknowledgment that we are meeting the needs of others,” says Strunk. “I look forward to the new creative opportunities our clients will continue to challenge us with.”

In addition to design and marketing services, Fifth Letter offers strategic planning to help organizations and businesses focus their purpose and message for select audiences. This enables clients to communicate effectively when considering projects which are wide-ranging coordinated efforts that may span multiple media.

Strunk’s work has also won past local, regional, and national awards from, among others, 10×10: 100 Specimens of Fine Paper, the Addys, AIGA (The American Institute of Graphic Arts), CASE (The Council for Advancement and Support of Education), Graphic Design USA, Graphis, HOW, Print, Step Inside Design, and Type Directors Club, as well as appearing in articles published in Communication Arts, Dynamic Graphics, and Graphic Arts Monthly magazines. His work has also appeared in seven graphic design compendiums and is included in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress.

In addition to his work, Strunk has taught graphic design at Salem College. Strunk graduated cum laude from Ohio University with a BFA in Graphic Design.
