Center for Design Innovation (CDI)

Created in response to a shifting job market and the increased emphasis on creativity in the workplace, the Center for Design Innovation (CDI) was created as a cooperative organization between three regional schools — the North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem State University, and Forsyth Technical Community College — all located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The organization works to develop a skilled workforce and commercialize innovative technologies in the central part of the state.

2006 Invitation

Each year the Center for Design Innovation holds a symposium to provide networking opportunities for creatives in the region as well as showcasing speakers from across the country. For the 2006 gathering, the theme was designing an experience through cooperation among teams and building virtual environments of different scales. We created an illustration and invitation around that theme showcasing layers of virtual information tied together with binary code.
