Downtown Middle School
The Downtown Middle School, a public charter school in downtown Winston-Salem, approached Fifth Letter asking for an updated identity. Being a Paideia academy, they wanted their mark to stress the philosophy of learning being a lifelong adventure that includes activities such as the arts, reading, and physical activity.
Logo
Fifth Letter generated a logo that not only highlights the diverse curriculum of the school, but also the fact that students will be learning in a dynamic urban setting. The uneven shapes mimicking cut paper speak to the idea of education being something that students have a hand in creating, too.
Brochure
We also worked with the Downtown Middle School to develop a recruitment brochure for all families with a rising sixth grader. Even though it is publicly-funded, the Downtown Middle School still needs to recruit students from across the county in order to have enough applicants for each grade level. In addition to providing a bit of background information about the school, the brochure includes an application that can be filled out and mailed in.
