Kenan Writers' Encounters, 2008 Season
The Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts, a nonprofit affiliate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, returned to Fifth Letter so we could once again create materials for their annual speaker series. The theme for the 2008 season was “Earth: Writers and Artists Engage the Environment” and included speaking engagements and workshops with Jonathan Gilligan, Terry Tempest Williams, Herb Parker, and W.S. Merwin.
"Earth" Poster
We decided that worn river stones would serve as an appropriate metaphor for man’s harmony with his surroundings, and coupled that image with subtle earth tones and a flecked paper with recycled content.
This poster folds up to be used as a mailer, and contains speaker and event information on the reverse side.
"Earth" Playbill Insert
We decided that worn river stones would serve as an appropriate metaphor for man’s harmony with his surroundings, and coupled that image with subtle earth tones and a flecked paper with recycled content.
The playbill insert serves as a distilled down version of the poster-mailer and includes basic biographical information about the speakers. Readers are encouraged to look online for more information and to register for the events.
