The Promised Land Museum is an on-going effort of The Coalition for Peace with Justice, and is focused on fostering an awareness of the common humanity of the Christian, Muslim and Jewish families who live in Israel and Palestine; ending support for violence; and encouraging the realization of peaceful means to end the conflict in the Holy Land. To test whether the project could gain support within the community and in order to raise funding, we launched a KickStarter campaign which included the story of Steve Feldman, a local doctor and Jewish American, and his awakening as an advocate for peace. The campaign received generous support and led to the design and development of the online museum, full of rich resources including historical documents and photography, videos, information graphics, current event details and promotion for other organizations who share their mission of peace.
To support awareness of the online museum, a traveling exhibit was created. Consisting of seven interactive banners, the exhibit summarizes the deeper content of the online museum and uses Meshtag technology that allows visitors to access bonus content using their smartphones. Other items designed to support the exhibits include brochures, stationery, advertisements and social media promotion.
The traveling exhibit has been featured at universities, churches and conferences and continues to build traction for the expansion of the project into a permanent exhibit space.
